What will you learn?
The course is made up of 6 modules. Modules 2 to 6 follow the themes of the Flexible Framework:
Module 1: Introducing Sustainable Procurement
This module explains what sustainable procurement is all about and its history in the UK. We provide an overview of the requirements of the Flexible Framework and the corresponding recommendations of BS8903. Finally, there’s a synopsis of the most useful items of guidance.
Module 2: People
We’ll look at the importance of people in the sustainable procurement process – identifying sustainable procurement champions and developing staff training.
Module 3: Policy, Strategy and Communication
This module guides you through the process of producing an effective sustainable procurement policy and embedding it in your organisation.
Module 4: Procurement Process
You’ll learn how to start embedding sustainability within procurement processes.
Module 5: Supplier Engagement
This module shows you how to establish a supplier engagement programme, so you can influence the sustainability of your supply chain.
Module 6: Measurements and Results
You’ll learn about simple ways of tracking progress on the Flexible Framework. This will help you achieve continuous improvement by focusing on key priorities.
