We were delighted to sponsor and attend the edie Sustainability Skills workshop held in London on 26 January.
The theme of the day was to look at both the hard and soft skills required of a sustainability professional.
David Challis, VP Innovation and Sustainability (Reckitt & Benckiser), encouraged self-sufficiency and empowerment for employees by thinking “It’s my business, I own it, I drive it” and Paul Crewe, Head of Sustainability, Energy and Engineering (Sainsbury’s), said there was a need for “deep awareness” of sustainability in organisations and he had been overwhelmed by the “hunger for knowledge” demonstrated by the 162,000 Sainsbury’s staff during an engagement programme.
It was noted through the various presentations, talks and case studies held during the day, that the role of the sustainability professional is demanding and diverse. Some attendees were on a personal journey to learn about subjects specific to sustainability and environmental professionals, whilst others were looking for solutions to engage their workforces on sustainability and resource efficiency.
Cloud Sustainability is in a unique position providing the tools for both individuals and organisations on that journey. Our presentation towards the end of the day focussed on the role of eLearning as a way of learning about sustainability and upskilling an organisation. Through the use of our online software tool and our broad range of sustainability-based eLearning modules, we are able to help individuals and organisations learn about waste, water, energy and other topics related to sustainability in its broader sense.
To help you or your organisation on the sustainability journey, have a look at our ResourceAware preview here and if you would like to purchase the eLearning module you can use the code RA50%FEB to gain 50% off of an individual purchase until the end of February.
Thats not all... you could roll-out ResourceAware (or any of the individual "aware" modules) throughout your organisation for as little as a few £ per learner. Please contact us if you wish to find out more.
